Device Backup (CrashPlan)

This service is available for faculty and staff.

CrashPlan (previously known as Code42) is an application that automatically backs-up your user files to a secure cloud. As a disaster recovery solution, CrashPlan allows you to get up-and-running again in the event that your computer becomes lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise unusable. When your computer is replaced, you can also use CrashPlan to restore data from your backup in the cloud to your new device.

NOTE:  A user license is required to use CrashPlan. ITS has covered the cost for CrashPlan to date, but we may eventually move to a charge-back model for licenses. ITS has begun to migrate many faculty and staff from CrashPlan to OneDrive Backup.
