Digital accessibility ensures that everyone can effectively use digital content and technologies. The Alternative Format menu is for any student in your Canvas course; it's a way that students can access digital content in the learning format that works best for you!
We help you learn about the Alternative Format tool in both a video tutorial format and a written out format, to provide options. After learning more about this tool, if you need additional support please select “Request Service”, select “Academic Technology Accessibility (Canvas, YuJa Panorama, other)” and share your question or need.

Find the Accessible Files Icon and Alternative Format Menu
Panorama offers many alternative file formats, giving you more control over your own learning.
In your Canvas courses, have you noticed the icon that is a (blue) circle around a (blue) outline of a person?

That is the Universal Digital Accessibility icon that lets you know that you can access your digital files in Canvas in other formats.
- Anywhere you find that Universal Digital Accessibility icon (blue circle around a body) next to a file in Canvas, it means you have access to a range of alternative formats for that file, which may help enhance your learning experience.
- Click on this icon to access the Alternative Files menu.

- From the list, select the alternative format that fits your individual needs and follow the on-screen prompts to download the converted file.
Course Menu: Panorama Accessibility Assistant
- In addition to the Panorama icon you will see next to files in Canvas, you will also find the Panorama Accessibility Assistant in your left side course menu in your Canvas courses.

- From this menu you can access user settings for your experience in Canvas. This menu will also serve as your access to additional Panorama features and functionality that are released over time.
