XST Account Login Error on New Computer
Error Message: "Your account is configured to prevent you from using this PC. Please try another PC."
Cause
XST accounts are configured at creation to only log into specific, pre-approved workstations. When a computer is replaced or added, the account's permitted workstation list must be updated before login will succeed.
What You'll Need
Before submitting a request, gather the following:
- The XST account username for each student employee who needs access
- The asset tag number for each new computer
How to Request Access
The student employee supervisor must submit an Account Update – Access and Permissions request.
1. Open the request form Go to the Account Update Access and Permissions form.
2. Add XST accounts In the "Select an Existing Account" field (a search-and-select field), add all XST accounts for student employees who need access.
3. Complete the form fields

4. Add a note in "Anything Else We Need to Know" Include something like: Computer was just replaced and XST accounts need access to the following computers: [List asset tag number(s)]
