Glowforge 3D Laser Printers are used in the ASC CreateSpace on campus. They must be connected to a Wi-Fi network in order to function. The steps below can be used to connect a Glowforge to the UST-Open Wi-Fi network.
Find the MAC address of the Glowforge
First, you need to identify the MAC address of the Glowforge device.
- Follow the instructions listed under "Finding the MAC address For Your Glowforge" on the Glowforge website.
- Highlight and copy the MAC address once you have identified it. You will need it in the next step.
Register the MAC address in MyDevices
Some devices need to be manually registered in our MyDevices portal before they will connect to our Wi-Fi network.
- Go to MyDevices and login with your St. Thomas username and password.
- Click the Add button.
- Choose a name for the device you are adding, such as "Glowforge," and type it in the "Device name (that makes sense to you)" field.
- Paste the MAC address that you copied in the first step above into the "Device ID (MAC Address)" field.
- Click Submit. Your device should now be listed in a Pending state on the screen that appears.
Follow steps from Glowforge to connect to Wi-Fi
Go to the "Connect Your Glowforge to Wi-Fi" page and follow the steps to connect your Glowforge to the "UST-Open" network. (Note that you must connect to "UST-Open" and not "UST.")
