Update Emergency Contact Information to get Alerts

Emergency Alerts are sent out two ways:

1. Via your UST email address
2. Your cell phone on file (in Murphy)

In order to receive text messages, ensure that your cell phone is up-to-date in Murphy.

Directions below to add/update your cell phone in Murphy:

1. login to Murphy Online
2. Go to the "My Info" tab
3. find the "Personal Information" Card
4. Click on the "Profile" link
   
   
    
5. To add a new cell phone number, find the "Phone Number" section, click the "Add New" link on the right hand side
6. In the "Add Phone Number" window, pick "Cell (cellular) phone" from the Select Phone type drop down
6. to update an existing cell phone number, click on the "Pencil" icon under the cell phone number
    

You do not have the option to opt out of emergency alerts sent to your UST email address.  If you have a cell phone on file, you will automatically get a text message. 

How to opt out of emergency alerts via text messages:

1. find the text message on your phone (it came from the number 59713)
2. type STOP
3. send the message

How to opt back in:

1. text to 59713
2. type START
3. send the message
