To activate your account:

- Open Apps and Tools menu
- Scroll through the alphabetical list to find VoiceThread
- You will be taken to your VoiceThread Home page. If you don't already have any VoiceThreads, you will be invited to create one there.
To learn more about creating and using VoiceThreads, visit the "Getting Started with VoiceThread" article.
VoiceThread's Account Clean-up Policies
VoiceThread has implemented a data clean-up policy that may result in inactive accounts being deleted. The following criteria will be applied:
- A VoiceThread account that has never been accessed: Will be deleted 1 year after it was created.
- A VoiceThread account that has been accessed but no content has been created: Will be deleted after 1 year of inactivity.
- A VoiceThread account who's owner has created content: Will be deleted after 2 years of inactivity. The owner of the account will be notified by email 30 days in advance so they can take appropriate action to keep their account active. To ensure your account is not deleted automatically, all you need to do is sign in at least once per year.
When a VoiceThread account is deleted, all associated VoiceThreads, CONTENT and COMMENTS on ANY VoiceThread, regardless of the original author, will be deleted.
The best action to prevent your VoiceThread content from being deleted, is to sign in at least once per year. You don't need to create new content, simply signing into your account keeps it active.
If you'd like to export any of your VoiceThreads for archival purposes, you can export and download them at any time. Refer to the "Exports" section of VoiceThread's documentation to learn more.
