This service is for staff, faculty, student workers with access to the Salesforce EDA environment and approved to write reports and dashboards.
Created for experienced Salesforce report and dashboard developers, this training will provide the knowledge and resources required to create reports and dashboards in the Salesforce EDA environment.
Important notice: FERPA Training is required for all university employees who work with student records. If you have not completed FERPA training you will need to submit a Tommie Tech Services ticket to be enrolled in the FERPA training program.
Salesforce EDA: Report & Dashboard Writer Training
To ensure consistency in our data, transparency in our work, and partnership across an enterprise environment this Salesforce Report Writer Training Program is available to staff, faculty and student workers approved by the Institutional Data, Analytics & Reporting (IDAR) team. To request access to this Canvas Training/Badging course please submit a request ticket through the TDX system.
Objectives of the Training:
- Utilizing Salesforce EDA for building basic reports and dashboards
- Understanding the St. Thomas Data Cookbook and its use
- Creating St. Thomas based reports and dashboards and understanding Reporting Types
- Create a Salesforce Specification in the Data Cookbook
- Follow the Data Empowerment practices of the University
Required to Complete the Training:
Once you have completed the Canvas course, you will be given the badging credentials and your access will be updated for report writing within Salesforce.
Completed Training will Empower You To:
All who complete the Salesforce EDA Report Writer training will become approved Salesforce Report Writer and gain the following access in the SF EDA environment:
- Ability to write Reports in Salesforce EDA using approved Report Types
- Ability to write Dashboards in Salesforce EDA
- Ability to write Specifications in the Data Cookbook
- Be an Official Salesforce Report Writer for your Department
- Access to a private Microsoft Teams group where all SF Report Writers can problem solve together and gain new updates on reporting/dashboard enhancements!
