Introduction to Zoom AI Companion

Zoom AI Companion is an integrated generative AI assistant designed to enhance productivity and streamline collaboration within Zoom Workplace. Available at no additional cost with paid Zoom plans, AI Companion leverages advanced AI models to help users manage meetings, generate content, and stay organized. It is seamlessly woven into the Zoom experience, supporting users with real-time assistance, meeting summaries, content generation, and more—all while prioritizing privacy and security.

AI Companion is accessible through a convenient side panel across Zoom Meetings, Whiteboards, and other core Zoom tools, enabling users to send prompts, receive tailored responses, and automate routine tasks. Its federated AI approach dynamically selects from leading AI models to deliver high-quality, context-aware results.

How to Enable Zoom AI Companion Features in Your Account

Follow these steps to activate Zoom AI Companion features. Once set, the AI Companion icon will appear automatically in your meetings, and no further action is needed for each meeting unless you wish to disable or adjust features. Only hosts and co-hosts can control the activation during meetings.

Step-by-Step Directions:

1. Log in to the Zoom Web Portal

   • Visit to https://stthomas.zoom.us

   • Choose Log In

   • Sign in with your St. Thomas credentials.

2. Access Your Settings

   • In the left sidebar, click on Settings.

3. Find the AI Companion Tab

   • In the Settings menu, locate and click on the AI Companion tab.

4. Enable Desired Features

   • Under the AI Companion section, toggle the switches next to:

     • Allow users to ask AI Companion questions about the meeting

     • Meeting summary with AI Companion

     • Smart recording with AI Companion

     • Whiteboard content generation with AI Companion

5. Save Changes

   • Your changes are saved automatically. The AI Companion icon (sparkle or diamond-shaped) will now appear in your Zoom meeting controls for all meetings you host.

6. Host/Co-Host Controls

   • Only meeting hosts and co-hosts can start or stop AI Companion features during a meeting. Participants cannot enable or disable these features themselves.

• If you do not see the AI Companion tab or cannot toggle the features, your admin may have locked these settings. Contact your Zoom admin for assistance

Using Zoom AI Companion in Meetings

   After the meeting, request a summary or next steps from the AI Companion panel. Share or export as needed.

4. Review Smart Recordings:
   If the meeting was recorded, access the cloud recording to view AI-generated highlights and chapters.
