System Details (including Search)

Page Detail Tab

The Page details tab controls the primary aspects of every page in OneStThomas.  For example, the system name (#4) not only controls what CMS editors see, but also defines the URL of the page in the browser that everyone sees.  Another important aspect that can be adjusted in this view are the page title (#5) which is what displays in search results, and keywords for search (#8) that control if a page is included in a search:

Editing Content

Content Tab

The content tab allows you to interact with the elements on the page (individual content widgets, page row layouts, etc). You can choose to edit individual content widgets or an entire page layout row that may contain multiple widgets (e.g. rich text editor + button).

Pro tip: Hovering your mouse also allows you to access special actions, like copying a pre-existing content widget/row or hiding content, which hides it from normal users but allows you to continue to edit drafts at your convenience.

Using your mouse, hover over the content you want to edit and click to open the configuration panel.  You can add text, apply formatting, insert images, hyperlinks, etc.  Commit your changes by hitting "Update", which will close the configuration panel and show you a preview of your edits.

You must then hit the green "Publish" button (or hit the up-arrow and select "Save") to submit your changes.  Publishing updates your page instantly, but you will need to refresh your browser to see your changes.

Adding New Content

Add a Row

Every page is a series of page layout rows stacked on top of each other, starting with the most important content at the top (I.e. page title, contact information, call-to-action buttons, etc) and adding each new page layout rows below.

  • Most common layouts are one full-width column (100%) and two-column layouts (75/25, 50/50, or 25/75).  Three and four column layouts are available however most pages benefit from simpler, cleaner layouts, particularly for mobile views of pages

Add a Widget

  • Hover over the specific section you want to place a new widget.  Click "Add widget" to open the Widget Gallery (fly-out menu).
  • Top 3 widgets are pinned in the fly-out widget gallery: Rich Text Editor (RTE), Button and Content Card.  Almost all pages are comprised of a combination of these three widgets, with RTE's being the most versatile (allows hyperlinks, images, tables, bullets and embedding content).
  • Select desired widget, which opens the configuration screen to add details and update settings:
