How do I use the University of St. Thomas Interactive Campus Map to find buildings, departments, directions, parking, transit stops, and other campus information?

The Interactive Campus Map helps faculty, staff, students, and visitors find University of St. Thomas buildings and campus resources. The map includes building hours, departments, events, parking, transit, emergency phones, and other location information.

  • University of St. Thomas faculty, staff, students, and visitors
  • The University of St. Thomas Interactive Campus Map
  • Desktop and mobile web browsers
  • St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Rome campus locations

Resolution

Open the Interactive Campus Map

  1. Navigate to the University of St. Thomas Interactive Campus Map.
  2. Select a campus when prompted or use the map controls to navigate to the appropriate campus.
  3. Use the building, landmark, parking, transit, emergency-phone, or tag options to display the information you need.

The map can display information such as:

  • Buildings and landmarks
  • Building hours
  • Building images
  • Departments associated with a building
  • Upcoming events
  • Parking locations
  • Transit locations
  • Emergency-phone locations
  • Directions between on-campus and off-campus locations

Important: Information shown on the map may come from other University systems, including the public University Directory. Follow the instructions in the Update Incorrect Information section if a department, phone number, office, or other location detail is incorrect.

Select a Map Task

Select a section below to show or hide its instructions.

Use a map indicator, the campus and building fields, or the search feature to locate a building or department.

  1. Locate a building or notable location on the map.
  2. Select the circular location indicator associated with the building or location.
  3. Review the available building or location information.

  1. Locate the campus and building selection fields.
  2. Select the appropriate campus.
  3. Select the building name.
  4. Review the building information displayed on the map.

Search for a Building or Department
  1. Locate the map's search field.
  2. Type the name of a building or department.
  3. Select the appropriate result.
  4. Review the location and available information displayed on the map.

The map can provide directions between on-campus and off-campus locations.

  1. Find and select the building you want to use as the starting point or destination.
  2. Select the Directions control in the building-information panel.
  3. Select a transportation mode, such as driving, biking, or walking.
  4. Search for and select the other location.
  5. Review the route displayed on the map.

Tip: Select the switch control in the directions panel to exchange the starting point and destination.

Use the Transit filter to display transit locations around campus.

  1. Select Transit from the list of map filters.
  2. Review the transit stops displayed on the map.
  3. Select a transit stop to review available route or departure information.

Use map tags to find buildings or locations associated with a particular function or amenity.

  1. Select the Filter by tag... field.
  2. Type the name of a function or amenity.
  3. Select the appropriate tag from the available results.
  4. Review the matching buildings or locations displayed on the map.
  5. Add another tag if you want to refine the displayed results.

Create a shareable link after selecting a building, applying map options, or generating directions.

  1. Find the building or generate the directions you want to share.
  2. Select the link control associated with the custom map.
  3. Copy the generated link.
  4. Send the link to the intended recipient.

Update Your Department's Information

If your department's public information is incorrect, an employee of that department can update the applicable department information through the University Directory.

  1. Navigate to the University of St. Thomas Directory.
  2. Select Log In.
  3. Sign in with your St. Thomas account.
  4. Update the applicable department information.
  5. Submit the changes.

Department information maintained in the Directory can be used by the Campus Map, including the departments associated with a building.

Report Other Map Inaccuracies

If the incorrect information cannot be updated through your department's Directory entry:

  1. Capture a screenshot showing the incorrect map information.
  2. Record the correct information or describe the requested change.
  3. Contact the Tech Desk and include the screenshot, affected location, and requested correction.

Caution: Update only information for a department you are authorized to maintain. Report other inaccuracies to the Tech Desk instead of changing unrelated department information.

Troubleshooting

If the Interactive Campus Map does not display or does not provide the expected information:

  • Confirm that your device has an active internet connection.
  • Refresh the map page.
  • Close and reopen the browser.
  • Try another supported browser or device.
  • Clear any active search terms, filters, or tags and search again.
  • Confirm that the appropriate campus is selected.
  • Try searching by both the building name and the associated department name.
  • Review the available PDF maps if you need an alternative to the interactive map.
  • Record the complete wording of any error message before contacting the Tech Desk.

When reporting incorrect information, include:

  • The affected building, department, parking location, transit stop, or map feature
  • The campus where the location appears
  • A screenshot showing the incorrect information
  • The correct information or requested change
  • The web browser and device used
