SAS JMP 17: How to Install for Home Use

SAS JMP Pro combines powerful statistics with dynamic graphics, in memory and on the desktop. SAS JMP Pro 17 is available for download for faculty/staff and students for use on personally owned Windows and Mac devices.

**Please keep in mind that you may not install this software on any campus computer - this is only for home use**

Windows Installation Instructions:

1. Go to our SharePoint site and click the jmp17-win.zip to download and save the file to the desktop.
2. Right click on jmp17-win.zip file and choose “Extract All.”
3. Open the JMP Pro 17.2 folder
4. Right-click on jmppro__1720__win.exe and select “Run as administrator.” Then click Yes.
5. Click Next.
6. Click Next.
7. Check the boxes for Excel Add-In and Java Runtime Environment (if available) and click Next.
8. Click Install.
9. Click Finish.
10. Click the Start button (lower left hand corner of the screen), find and open JMP Pro 17.
11. A window will appear asking for a license file. Click Open License.
12. Navigate to the jmp17-win\JMP Pro 17.2 folder and select "JMPPRO_17_win_900000237_14Jan2025.txt" and click Open.
13. Leave Administrator’s Name and Department blank and click OK
14. A window will pop up asking to select a location to save the file. Leave it as-is and click Save.
15. When you open the program for the first time, a window may pop up asking if you want to register JMP Pro 17. Click Wait to Register.
16. Another window may pop up that says Personalization. You can leave everything checked and click OK.

Mac Installation Instructions:

1. Go to our SharePoint folder and click on the jmp17-mac.zip file to download (it should automatically start downloading to the Downloads folder).
2. Open the jmp17-mac.zip in the Downloads folder to extract.
3. Go to JMP Pro 17.2\Macintosh and run jmppro__1720__mac.dmg
4. Open JMP Pro 17.pkg
5. Click Continue twice.
6. Click Install.
7. Click Close. When the installer asks you if you’d like to move the installer to the trash, choose Keep.
8. Open the program, JMP Pro 17 from the Applications folder.
9. In the Provide your JMP License window, click Open License then browse to Downloads/jmp17-mac/JMP Pro 17.2 and choose the file "JMPPRO_17_mac_900000237_14Jan2025.txt".  
10. When prompted, leave Administrator’s Name and Department blank and click OK
11. A window will pop up that says Personalization. You can leave everything checked and click OK. A window will pop up asking for JMP Registration. Click Wait to Register.

License Update Instructions for version 17:

1. Download the license file for SAS JMP Pro for version 17 expiring on January 14, 2024 from the attached files at the right of this page:
   1. For Mac: JMPPRO_17_mac_900000237_14Jan2025.txt
   2. For Windows: JMPPRO_17_win_900000237_14Jan2025.txt
2. When JMP Pro is launched it will prompt for a new license file.  Browse to and then choose the license file that you downloaded.
