Keep your Zoom Desktop App Up-To-Date (PC, Mac, or Linux)

Tags zoom zoompro

Zoom releases relatively frequent updates to the Zoom desktop app. Newer versions include bug-fixes and (less often) access to new functionality. One of the best ways to ensure ongoing smooth, glitch-free use of Zoom is to keep your app up-to-date.

Zoom provides a pop-up notification when there is a new mandatory update within 24 hours of logging in, and occasionally also pop-up notifications for optional updates.

If you already have the Zoom desktop client installed, check for updates:

  1. Sign in to Zoom desktop app
  2. Click your profile icon/picture (upper right corner – see image below)
  3. From the drop-down menu, select Check for Updates (image below)

If there is a newer version, a pop-up window will ask you if you want to install it. Depending on your browser and browser settings, the installer may run automatically upon selecting to update, or you may need to click on the installer in your Downloads to run it.
