FERPA Directory Information Data Fields

Below lists out the data fields that the University of St. Thomas considers directory information under FERPA regulations and are considered acceptable to disclose to third party agents without the direct individuals consent.

Even though this Directory Information can be shared externally, the University is not obligated to share any or all information with third parties. Requests for this information can be denied based on desired use, security regulations/policies, the decision by the data owner, University data policies, or legal.

All individuals with confidentiality agreements or exclusion preferences on record at the university must be excluded. All Items are classified as Green Data under the University Data Classification Policy.

Individuals are considered any person the University of St. Thomas has generated an education data profile on (for example: prospective students, enrolled students, withdrawn students, alumni, student family members, non-degree seeking students, students pursuing license, students pursuing extensive training, staff, faculty etc.)
