Software: Activating JMP Pro 18/Student Edition

This article is for faculty, staff, and students.

JMP Pro software is used in several disciplines at St. Thomas. A recent licensing change to the software now requires users to create an account with myJMP before the software can be used. The instructions below demonstrate how to create an account using your St. Thomas email address, as well as the process for activating the software each time you use it on a new device.

Create an account at myJMP

  1. Go to the myJMP login page using this link and click on the "Sign Up" link.

  2. Enter your information into the First Name, Last Name, and Email fields, then click the Sign Up button.

  3. An email will be sent to the St. Thomas address you used in the previous step. Check your email for an email from JMP containing a verification code.
     
  4. Enter the code you received in your email in the "Verification Code" field and click the Verify button.


     
  5. Review the Privacy Statement and Terms of Use, choose "I Accept" and click the Continue button.

  6. Complete the form to the best of your ability, and click the "Next" button. If you're not sure what to type for some fields, here are some recommendations:

    School/University Name: University of St. Thomas
    City: St. Paul
    Zip/Postal Code: 55105
    State/Province: MN
    Country: United States

  7. You will then see a page that has you verify your academic status. Click the Start button to begin.

  8. Ignore steps 1-3 that are presented and instead click the "Can't find your institution?" link.

  9. Enter the stthomas.edu email address you used above, and click Submit.

  10. You'll see a message stating, "Your request has been submitted..."

  11. Check your email for a message from "Proxi.id Verification Service <request@proxi.id>.

    Copy the verification code and click "the verification app" link to return to the final step.

  12. Finally, enter your email address and code you received. Then click Submit.

  13. You then see your myJMP account page displaying your current status and expiration date. You may also download installers for Windows or Mac to install JMP Pro Student Edition on your personal computer.

 

Activating JMP Pro when launching the app

When you launch the JMP Pro app from any computer for the first time, you will need to activate it by receiving an email to the account you created above.

  1. If you have not yet authorized the device you are currently using, you will receive the following prompt. Click OK.

    Welcome to JMP. You must authorize your software.
     
  2. Enter your email address from your myJMP account, then click "Sign in."

  3. Check your email for a verification code from JMP. Enter it in the space provided, and click "Verify."

  4. The app will proceed to launch. You may be prompted with a window asking to share anonymous usage data. Feel free to click "No, thanks."
