Learning and Performance Portal - How to Find, Request, and Launch Training

This service is for faculty and staff.

The Learning and Performance portal uses a tool called Cornerstone for all St. Thomas required training, in person and remote workshops, and other professional development opportunities. You can search for Learning titles or browse the Events Calendar for training you're interested in. Other training may be required by your department or unit. You can track your progress and see your transcript under Learner Home. 

This powerful new tool is designed to support your ongoing professional growth and development by providing you with easy access to learning resources, performance tracking, and feedback tools - all in one place. 

Note: The Performance platform is under construction with more information coming soon. This article only covers the Learning side of the tool.

Finding and Requesting Training Opportunities

  1. Log in to One.St.Thomas.edu

  2. Click the Apps and Tools icon at the top of the screen. Then, click the Apps & Tools tab to see all available apps & tools.

  3. Scroll down to locate the Learning and Performance tile and click on it.

Click into one of these areas to find what you're looking for: 

  1. The "Learner Home" is your personalized dashboard showing your requested subjects as well as upcoming events. Click Launch on any title to enter the training.
  2. Visit your "Transcript" to see the training you've completed as well as any badges or certificates earned. 
  3. Find ALL training subjects under "Search Training." Filter by Subject, Provider, Modality and more.
  4. Click the "Events Calendar" to see upcoming training opportunities in a calendar view. Both in-person and remote (on Zoom) training sessions will show up on the Events Calendar. 

When you find the training or workshop you want, click on it for more information:

On the next screen, see the training event's Details, Subject, Provider, and any available Sessions:

  1. Click the "Select a Session" button next to see available Sessions. 

  2. If a Session isn't available, click "Notify Me."

  3. If necessary, click "View Details." 

  4. For live events and workshops (synchronous training), click the "Request" button to register for the event.

Note: Clicking "Request" automatically registers you for the training. The training title shows up in your Learner Home and sends an email notification with a convenient calendar invitation to accept.

Accessing and Launching a Session

Once you've requested a workshop or training session, you can access it either through the Learner Home, or for synchronous training, the Events Calendar or Launch link in your Outlook calendar.

 

Through the Learner Home -

  1. Open the Learner Home on the Learning & Performance portal.

  2. Click on the title of the required or requested training. 

  3. Click "Launch."

    Note: You won't be able to enter the Zoom session until 60 min. prior.

    You may not enter the webcast meeting until 60 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. Please come back in: 17 day(s) 23 hour(s) 31 minute(s)

Through the Email Confirmation or Notification -

  1. You will receive an email confirmation after requesting training title (remember registration is automatic). 

  2. The Launch link will be in the email as well as on your Outlook calendar (if you accepted).

  3. You can also go to the "Learner Home" to see the training under "Continue Learning."

  4. Clicking the Launch link will mark your attendance and open the Zoom meeting (for synchronous sessions).

  5. Remember, if the location of your synchronous session is "Remote"  it will be on Zoom, but you won't be able to access it until 60 minutes ahead of the session.

Please keep in mind this is a change for how we access training and professional development at St. Thomas. Remember these tips when using the tool and reach out if you need help. 

Remember:

  • Required and Requested training is accessed through One.StThomas.edu Apps and Tools > Learning and Performance.
  • Clicking "Request" on a training title will automatically register/enroll you into the training. 
  • For "Remote" workshops, there is no visible or sharable Zoom link. Notifications go directly to your email and will include a Launch link.
