As part of the Technology Intake Process and approved by the ITS Architecture Review Board the following standard outlines the scope, definitions, details and exceptions for practices that align with our enterprise architecture, operational infrastructure, and strategic goals. By adhering to this standard, we can reduce technical debt, streamline integrations, and accelerate innovation while maintaining a high level of quality and governance.

What are the core products and platforms at the University of St. Thomas, comprising of our centralized infrastructure and operations.

This standard apply to any newly considered products or platforms for purchase at the University.

Newly considered products and platforms into our St. Thomas ecosystem should be compatible and not duplicate services or functionality of the following:
- AWS
- Canvas
- Ellucian Banner
- Microsoft
- Salesforce
- VM Ware
- Dell Technologies
Products and Platforms should support the University Strategic Plan.
Section 5: Exceptions to Standards
The following exceptions apply to this standard:
- If an Ellucian partner, extra review is necessary during ERP evaluation period.
- If it is the only applicable tool that is available to execute the business need.
- If there is grant funding that must be spent in a specific way
- Leadership initiative
- Strategic Plan evolution
