Panopto
Panopto is a video content management system that lets you easily record and share your videos. Panopto allows for web cam recordings, screen recordings, and uploading videos made with other tools. Learn more about Panopto:
Canvas
Canvas has a built-in tool for recording audio and video. The advantage is that the media is recorded and embedded within the same technology. However, the Canvas media tool does not allow for easy captioning (Panopto does), and the Canvas media tool does not allow for screen capture (Panopto does). Canvas has some tutorials to show you how to record audio and video:
Recording in a Studio
There are multiple studios on campus for faculty and staff use. Please refer to our 3 Levels of Production Service to get an idea of what services are offered in each studio. The document also contains contact information for reservations.
The OEC Studio is taking appointments. Have a look at the OEC Studio page for a look book (guide to what types of recordings can be created), take a virtual studio tour, book an appointment, and more.
For students, use the student recording studio in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey library.
Recording Participants in Multiple Locations
If you can't all be together in one place to record, use Zoom to meet. Record your session to the cloud for easy sharing of the video.
PowerPoint Design
All members of the St. Thomas community have access to Microsoft Office 365. To find PowerPoint, click on Apps and Tools above.
