This article provides an overview for uploading new data into Salesforce Campaign Member object, which can be accessed within Salesforce EDA or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Campaign members are individuals or corporation contacts that populate a Campaign within Salesforce.

Prepare the Data

Salesforce EDA requires and recommends specific data fields to be included when uploading new data, this is to ensure we minimize any duplicate record creation and use the Salesforce functionality to move the data automatically to the Campaign Member object.

Required Fields for data to be loaded into Campaign Member. These fields cannot be blank:

  • Interaction_source__c = Lyris Migration ("Lyris Migration" is a given name to run a flow logic. Use this name regardless your contacts sources.)
  • Lead_Source__c (Where you obtained your contacts. Check the existing Lead Source names from this list and use one source closest to the source you obtained your contacts. If there is no source match yours, submit a ticket to request MIC to add your lead source to the list.)
  • Campaign__c (must be the Campaign record ID)
  • Email__c
  • Campaign_Member_Status__c = Subscribed
  • First_Name__c
  • Last_Name__c

Suggested fields to include for stronger person matching, and reduced duplicates. These can be blank and not required:

  • Contact__c
  • Banner_ID__c
  • Mailing_Street__c
  • Mailing_State__c
  • Mailing_Postal_Code__c
  • Mailing_Country__c
  • Employer__c

A Data Template can be downloaded here, with the Green headers being required for upload.
