Connecting to VPN on a Mac Using GlobalProtect

This service is for faculty and staff.

This article assumes the Global Protect client is already installed from the Self Service app on a University of St. Thomas Mac laptop. Mac: How to Use Self Service on a UST Mac

Issue: Need to access resources only available on the UST Network

  • Cannot connect to Cognos
  • Cannot connect to file share
  • Cannot connect to Remote Computer

Connect to the St.Thomas VPN using GlobalProtect

  1. Click on the Globe icon in the top right corner of the display.

                       

  1. Enter ust-vpn.stthomas.edu for your portal address then click connect. 

  1. Enter your full UST credentials and confirm identity with an MFA. ex: smit1234@stthomas.edu then click Sign In. 


     
  2. Respond to the Multi-Factor Authentication prompt you receive.
     
  3. Confirm connectivity by acknowledging the following prompt.
  4. If you get an error please try connecting again. If you're still unable to connect please contact the Tech Desk.
