This article contains steps to make the McGraw Hill Integration (including the McGraw Hill Connect textbook integration) available in Canvas. The old version uses the LTI 1.1 standard and will remain available through Summer 2026; the new version uses the LTI 1.3 standard and offers additional features. ITS anticipates switching off the old LTI 1.1 tool during the 2026-2027 academic year. In the meantime, installation and testing of the LTI 1.3 tool inside Canvas courses is encouraged:
- Go into a course
- Go to Settings > Apps
- Click “View App Configurations”
- Click “+ App”
- In “Configuration Type” choose “By Client ID”
- In the Client ID field, enter: 73770000000000360
- (That’s “7377, ten zeros, 360”)
- Verify that you’re prompted to install the new "McGraw Hill Integration" tool
- Click “Install”
- Refresh your Canvas screen
- You'll find that "McGraw Hill Integration" now appears in the list of options when you add content to a module in this course
- If you want to have students access your textbook directly from the course navigation:
- Click the Navigation tab to observe a new “McGraw Hill Integration” item on your nav menu, hidden by default
- Drag “McGraw Hill Integration” into the upper area of the Navigation options to enable it for students
- Optionally, drag any old “McGraw Hill” item into the lower Navigation option to disable it for students
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen to commit the change to the Navigation area
- Refresh your Canvas screen and see that the navigation menu on the left has changed.
Note: If you are using the old tool named "McGraw-Hill Connect (retired August 2026)" please work with your McGraw Hill publisher rep to follow the instructions above and convert your course to the LTI 1.3 integration instead.
