Web Browser: Enable Third Party Cookies

This article is for faculty, staff, and students.

There may be features or functions of St. Thomas websites and applications (especially in Canvas) that experience malfunctions or blank/missing content if their third party cookies are blocked. To resolve this issue, follow the instructions below or this helpful Panopto article on enabling third-party cookies in the your browser.

Enable third party cookies in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. From the top right, select the three vertical dots and then Settings.
  3. Click Privacy and security from the left side navigation bar.
  4. Make sure the setting for Block third-party cookies is unchecked.

Enable third party cookies in Firefox

  1. Open Firefox browser.
  2. From the top right, select the three vertical lines and then Options.
  3. Select Privacy & Security from the left side navigation bar.
  4. Under Browser Privacy, select Standard.

Enable third party cookies in Edge 

  1.  Open your Edge browser.
  2.  From the top right, select the three dots on the tool bar and then Settings.
  3.  Under Advanced Settings, click View Advanced Settings.
  4. Under Cookies, select Don't block cookies.

Enable third party cookies in Safari

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Click on Safari, then select Preferences.
  3. Click on Privacy tab. Make sure both Prevent cross-site tracking and Block all cookies are unchecked.
