Part 1: Accessing PDF Remediation Max in Canvas
Step 1: Enable Panorama in Your Course
- Navigate to your Canvas course site.
- In the course navigation menu, find Panorama Accessibility Assistant. If it’s not visible, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings in the course menu.
- Select Navigation, then find Panorama in the list.
- Drag it to the "Enabled Items" section.
Note: When enabled Panorama is currently visible only to faculty, not students.
Step 2: Launch the Accessibility Assistant
- In your course navigation menu, select Panorama Accessibility Assistant to open the tool.
- You will see a list of files uploaded to your course that are accessible for remediation.

1. Fixing Untagged PDFs
- Issue Identified: "The PDF is Untagged"
- Steps:
- Locate the issue "The PDF is Untagged" in the list of identified issues.
- Click Fix Issue. Panorama will automatically tag the document, making it readable for screen readers.
- Review and adjust the tags manually if necessary.
- Save the document after tagging.

2. Addressing Scanned Documents
- Issue Identified: "The Document Is Scanned"
- Steps:
- If the document is scanned (containing images of text), Panorama will flag it.
