Support Page for Student Support in Canvas

Tags canvas

STELAR developed a new Support page where the links are controlled in a centralized location. The links are checked frequently and kept up to date. This will save professors time since they won't have to keep these links up to date on their own.

If you already have a Support page in your class:

  1. Delete your existing Support page.
  2. Download the new Support page from Canvas Commons. Use these filters to find the correct page:
    1. Shared with: University of St. Thomas
    2. Search for "Support Page"
  3. If your Support page is linked on the Home Page, double check that the link from the Home Page still works after the download has completed.
  4. Add the new Support page to your modules.

If you don't already have a Support page in your class:

Consider importing the entire Module 0 (Getting Started) module:

  1. Download Module 0 (Getting Started) from Canvas Commons. Use these filters to find the correct module:
    1. Shared with: University of St. Thomas
    2. Search for "Module 0 (Getting Started)"
  2. After the page has downloaded, you may need to rearrange your modules to place Module 0 (Getting Started) at the top.

If you'd like just the Support page:

  1. Download Support Page from Canvas Commons. Use these filters to find the correct page:
    1. Shared with: University of St. Thomas
    2. Search for "Support Page"
  2. After the module has downloaded, add the page to your modules.

Keeping Your Support Page Up to Date

  1. Go to the Support page in your course.
  2. Click edit. Wait for the content to fully load (usually just a couple seconds). This will pull the most recently updated version of the Support page into your class.
  3. Save the page.
