How to use /undelete

In Canvas, deleted pages, files, and announcements can be recovered by typing "/undelete" after your course URL.

For example, if your course URL is https://canvas.stthomas.edu/courses/12345 change it to https://canvas.stthomsa.edu/courses/12345/undelete

This will display a list of any items that have been deleted from the course recently. There will be a restore button next to each deleted item and you can choose which ones you want to retrieve.

The undelete option does not always work. If you cannot recover your content submit a ticket to Canvas Support by opening Canvas and clicking on the "Help" button in the left navigation bar.

How to Access the Beta and Test Environments

The beta and test environments in Canvas allow you to explore new features before they reach production and test course content using your real data without messing up your live production environment. They also provide a way to view recently deleted content. To learn how to use the beta and test environments read the Canvas articles below

Remember, beta environments will reset every week on Sunday and the test environment is reset every third Saturday of the month. Any content created in this environment will be deleted after these dates.

If you want to keep any course content created or saved in your beta or test environment, you can export your course using the beta and test environments and re-import the specific content into your live course.
