Print, Scan, & Fax: Connect to a network printer from a Mac with Print Deploy

This service is for faculty, staff, and students.

The instructions below describe how to use the PaperCut Print Deploy app to connect to a network printer for basic printing from a macOS computer. If you need to print to a campus MFP with additional finishing options, please see Printing with Finishing options on a Mac.

The PaperCut Print Deploy app is automatically installed on all St. Thomas Macs. If you do not see the Print Deploy app on your computer, check the Self Service app.

NOTE: For personally-owned computers, you must first download and install the Print Deploy app.

Install a network printer using PaperCut Print Deploy

  1. Open the PaperCut Print Deploy Client by clicking on the printer icon in your Mac's top menu bar and choosing "View my printers."

  2. If you are prompted to log in, enter your St. Thomas username and password, then click "Sign in and add printers."

  3. Currently installed printers are displayed under "My printers." To add a printer, choose "Add printers" in the left menu.

  4. In the search box in the top-right corner of the app, type the building code for the printer you wish to add (such as "OEC" or "SCC," etc.)

    When you locate the printer you wish to add, click the "Install" button.

  5. That's it! The printer is added to your Mac's list of printers.

     

Remove a network printer using PaperCut Print Deploy

  1. Open the Print Deploy app and log in if prompted.
     
  2. In the "My printers" screen that appears, click the trash can icon next to the printer you wish to remove.

  3. Within a few seconds, the printer is removed from your computer.
