Before your voice mailbox can be activated, ITS needs to receive a request from your hiring manager or supervisor submitted on your behalf.
How to Access Your Voicemail
First time accessing your voicemail? Follow the steps below to set it up!
- Dial the voicemail system number from one of the following methods:
- From your office phone: Press the voicemail button on your phone
- On campus: 2-8888
- Press the * key when you hear the opening prompt that begins "Hello Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System"
- Personal phone: 651-962-8888
- Press the * key when you hear the opening prompt that begins "Hello Cisco Unity Connection Messaging System"
- Enter your 5-digit phone extension when prompted for your "ID" then press the # key.
- Next, enter your PIN (your default PIN is your St. Thomas ID number) then press the # key.
The system will now walk you through personalizing and updating your voicemail settings.
Record Your Name
A system-generated name recording is already provided for your voicemail account. If you would like to personalize this or update the pronounciation, follow the prompts to record your first and last name.
Recording Standard Greeting
You will now be prompted to record a personalized greeting. All St. Thomas voice mailboxes should have a name recorded in the employee's voice and an appropriate greeting that reflects St. Thomas and the department of which they work. Once you have recorded your greeting you may save, review, or re-record the message.
Reset Your Pin
You will be prompted to enter your own personal 6-10 digit PIN which you will use to access your mailbox from this point on. The system will ask you to verify your PIN by having you enter your new personal PIN a second time.
After completing this step the system will congratulate you on successfully completing the voicemail setup. You can hang up or if you stay on the line you will be directed to your voice mailbox.
