Business Relationship Management

The Business Relationship Management team consists of Kori Dostal and Vidya Neni. BRMs form partnerships with Academic and Administrative departments:

  1. To help facilitate requests for additional or upgraded technologies.
  2. To ensure that departments have reasonable access to ITS support and services, and that ITS is meeting those needs.
  3. To inform and prepare departments for upcoming technology changes and to understand how those changes will impact the department.

By implementing BRM into the ITS service delivery framework at St. Thomas, we are providing an opportunity to engage in more strategic and actionable conversations with academic and administrative departments. BRMs are available to support and collaborate on strategic technology plans, implementation of new products, and brainstorm ways to gain more value out of existing St. Thomas products and services.

The BRM team can work with you on improving your team’s workflow(s), advise on resource consolidation (are you holding onto tools that no longer serve current needs), and discuss end of fiscal year spending—what opportunities are there to make the most of those dollars. If, for example, you are considering a new software, engage a BRM, and we can connect you with the correct service team(s)/parties to determine the following:

  • Are there comparable tools already supported at the University that you can leverage?
  • Are there other departments with similar needs and/or opportunities for licensing coordination and savings?
  • Can this app be supported in the cloud, or does it need to run on premise? ITS service team(s) can determine cloud vs on-prem cost and authentication support needs.
