Badging: How to Add Your Badge to Outlook Email Signature

This service is for faculty, staff, and students.

Sharing your digital badges (microcredentials) on your social media accounts, resume, or personal website are great ways to promote your skills and accomplishments. You also may want to share one or more digital badges in your email signature as a way to promote your learning and also promote important concepts you want others to learn about!

 Badging: How to Add Your Badge to Outlook Email Signature

Before you begin, make sure that you have your badge saved as an image file from your Badgr account.

  • Go to stthomas.badgr.com and select My Badges.
  • Locate the badge you wish to share.
  • Download the image by right-clicking on the image and selecting save image.

Also before you begin, make sure that you have copied the sharing-link to your badge.

  • Click the word "Share" next to your badge.
  • Copy the sharing-link where it says "Copy this link to share"

Outlook Web App

  • Open your Outlook web app and click the settings-cog at the top right

  • Type in "Signature" in the search box and select "email signature."

  • Place your cursor at the spot where you would like to insert your badge in your signature line.

  • Click the image icon labeled "Insert Pictures Inline."

  • Locate your Badge image file, and select "Insert."

    • To resize your image (if too big or too small), click on the image and drag the corners in or out to resize.

  • Click on the image, then click the icon labeled "Insert link"

  • Under "Web address (URL), paste the sharing-link to your badge that you copied earlier.

  • Select "OK"

  • Select "Save. Your signature line should be saved!

  • After you complete these steps, send your email to someone and ask them to click on your badge in your email signature and show you what they find. You'll want to make sure that they are able to click on the badge and learn that it belongs to you!

 

Outlook Desktop App

  • Open a new message and then select "Signature" > "Manage Signatures".

  • In the Signature Name box, choose the signature you want to add your badge to and select Edit.

  • Select the Pictures icon from the pop-up box and choose Picture from File.

  • Next, locate your image file, and select Insert.

  • To resize your image (if too big or small), drag the corners in or out to resize.

  • Make sure you first click on the image, then click the icon labeled "Link"

 

  • Under "Address", paste the sharing-link to your badge that you copied earlier.

  • When you're done, select the save icon in the upper left side corner of the editing box to save the changes to your signature.

  • After you complete these steps, send your email to someone and ask them to click on your badge in your email signature and show you what they find. You'll want to make sure that they are able to click on the badge and learn that it belongs to you!
